Illegal Activies
‣ Alcohol.
Alcohol is allowed as a subject. Residents are allowed to drink alcohol (for roleplaying purposes) as soon as their character has turned 18 years old. It's allowed to discuss alcohol in chat, but it's not allowed to encourage the use of alcohol to underage users.
‣ Drugs.
Usage of drugs is strictly prohibited on this site. This means this subject can not be talked about in topics, chats or storybooks. We do not differentiate between soft- and harddrugs. Regular cigarettes are allowed to be mentioned in chat (for example, mentioning you're going to smoke a cigarette real quick), but not in topics. Seeing as Tabacco does not exist in our world.
‣ Self harm.
Mentioning self-harm (in any way), or discussing other mental health disorders, can be quite triggering for certain users. This is why this topic can not be discussed anywhere on the site that can be reached by everyone (including topics, chat and storybook). This also means that it's not allowed to roleplay as a character who has a mental health disorder.
‣ Racism.
Racism and discrimination of any kind aren't allowed on this website. We strive to be inclusive and welcome everyone to our community. We will not tolerate people excluding others based on this.
‣ Pornographic Imagery.
Sending pornographic images anywhere on the site, or using them in a Storybook/profile picture is not allowed. This means we do not allow images with people who aren't fully dressed. Along with that, it's not allowed to engage in sexual roleplay with minors.
Accounts and Occupations
Everybody on the site is allowed to make any number of accounts as they wish as long as they abide by the rules of the site. There are specific rules about holding jobs on these accounts, seeing as there is a maximum number of jobs that one person can hold. We'll explain more of this down below.
‣ Graduate Jobs.
Under Graduate jobs fall the King/Queen, Royal Advisor, Society Leader, Commander, Herald and Master jobs. When someone holds on of these jobs, they are allowed to have one other student job along with this. They can only hold this student job on another account. The requirement is that they will have to be active on both accounts and will accept the leadership of the person leading the team. Under special circumstances, it's allowed to temporarily have multiple graduate jobs. This will be specifically allowed by the King/Queen and the Royal Advisor.
‣ Student Jobs.
Students can have two student jobs. They will have to have two accounts (one job per account) and will need to be active on both of these accounts. The Artist job will not count towards the maximum of two jobs per account.
Roleplaying
Roleplaying is a big part of this site. Because of this, there are also a lot of rules involved to ensure this is a positive experience for everyone. More in-depth rules can be found in the Forum and Gaming rules. Here you will find a quick overview of what is expected from you when you start to roleplay on World of Fairy Tales.
‣ Realistic Roleplaying.
Realism is a big part of roleplaying. You need to ensure that everything you do fits your character and the setting. This means that you need to keep an eye on what your character would realistically be able to do. Here is where statuses come into play. A status is a special ability, species or special item you can have which grants you powers different from what regular Residents would be able to have. Without this, you cannot ever write about having this power or claiming to be this species. What is realistic regarding the use of Magic can be found in the Magical Abilities guideline. We are aware that Everybody has a unique personality, but this cannot be exaggerated. You have to act your age and consider this when writing your backstory and responding to topics with your character. You are not allowed to act any older or younger than you are. For example, claiming you are the best fighter in the world while your character is only 11 years old, is a bit far-fetched and would be considered unrealistic. Also, keep in mind that relationships at a really young age aren't considered very realistic as well.
‣ Usage of NPC.
People have their own character on this site. This also means that it's not allowed to roleplay with their character and determine their actions. You can use NPC's (Non-Player Characters) in topics, assignments and your backstory. These are characters that you have made up, and aren't played by anyone. They are minor characters, such as a knight or a cook. Keep in mind that you can't make an NPC a major character in your topics, but it is allowed to use them to progress the story further. The NPCs are to be viewed from your own characters point of view. They can never be a character from an existing fairytale. The plot team (or anyone recruited by them) is excluded from this rule when it comes to their events. They are able to play another character than their own and write a message as if they were them. This will have to be checked by the Commander of Quest before doing so. If this is the case you will need to disclose this with an OOG message when you enter the plot.
